ORCHESTRAL ARTS AFRICA

Where theatre, popular culture and orchestral craft meet.

Musical theatre can bring orchestral sound to audiences who may never attend a symphony concert. It also demands specialist collaboration between composers, arrangers, music directors, performers, producers and instrumentalists.

This programme will support live accompaniment, new South African musical-theatre work, orchestration and production partnerships. Ensemble size will respond to the score, venue and budget rather than to a fixed institutional template.

The aim is both artistic and industrial: stronger productions, better professional pathways for musicians and a deeper local ecosystem for music-led theatre.
