The education programme will build live and digital orchestral experiences that develop cultural literacy, listening, curiosity and future audiences. The ambition is not simply to “take classical music to schools”, but to create intelligent, age-appropriate encounters with sound, instruments, repertoire, composers and the social history around music.
Over time, the programme can include school concerts, teacher resources, facilitated listening, instrument demonstrations and a South African young people’s concert format for live, broadcast and digital audiences. Cross-subsidy should protect access where schools cannot pay.

Education here is not charity. It is audience development, cultural literacy and long-term investment in the public life of orchestral music.
