International orchestral work is not defined by travel. It is defined by professional presence inside the systems through which orchestral careers are built.

Those systems are often invisible from the audience side of the concert hall: rehearsal rooms, assistants’ desks, artistic mentorship, introductions, programming conversations, festivals, institutional relationships, documentation, agents, presenters and the repeated professional contact through which trust develops.

Unathi’s international orchestral work is focused on entering and sustaining those environments as a working conductor. It includes assistant-conducting, rehearsal participation, sectional work, score preparation, artistic exchange, selected podium opportunities, professional masterclasses, residencies and relationship-building with orchestral institutions.

The work has developed through European and Western Balkan engagements and continues to build toward future conducting invitations, co-productions, artist exchanges and longer-term institutional partnerships.

The Baton Forward is the current flagship project within this international strand. It documents market access before the visible career outcome: the work, relationships and professional infrastructure that make future international engagements possible.

International careers are built through repeated professional presence, not isolated appearances.
